they have so much fun together!

This winter has been a bad one for people getting sick, and I have not been immune!  I got strep throat over Thanksgiving, then because I didn't throw my toothbrush away I gave it to myself again.  Just as I was finishing those antibiotics I got sick right before Christmas and it turned into a nasty sinus infection that I am just starting to recover from a month later.  The Dr said that because I'm growing a baby and have been sick since TG that my body is having a hard time fighting off germs so when others are sick near me I'm trying to fight off that plus what I already have so its taking much, much longer to get better.  I'm glad to be feeling better though and hope I can stay healthy the rest of this pregnancy.  I was hoping to get more done the 2nd trimester but being sick for this long has made it challenging.  I'm going to make the most of the next few weeks before starting that "feeling large" stage in the 3rd trimester.

The girls have been having so much fun together over Christmas with various activities.  April is starting to say a few more words and is becoming a little dare devil, not sitting still for long periods of time at all.  At her 15 month appointment they said she is not quite 21 lbs so in the 15% for weight, but 32 inches tall which is 88%!  She didn't like her apt at all getting weighed, having her heart listened too and of course the immunizations.  She kept waving bye-bye to the nurse and daughter and was so upset when they wouldn't leave!  Thankfully the stranger anxiety is a normal stage but it isn't a fun stage as parents.

Bethany has been a lot of fun the last few weeks as she's settled into being 3.  She loves to tell and hear stories and talk through and understand everything going on around her.  While April is content to play by herself with us nearby, Bethany wants to play with us and interact at all times.  She makes a lot of connections and liked hearing the Christmas story many different times and has asked if she can go visit Bethlehem and see where baby Jesus was born.  Yesterday she said is Jesus' daddy God?  We said yes and she smiled and said my daddy is Dan!  You put a smile on our face every day and we love watching you grow.  You are getting so good at letters and can almost spell your entire name by yourself!  We have some phonics games on our ipad and tablet and you are getting really good at sounding out letters.

We have one more Christmas to celebrate when the Springers come the first week in February and we are excited to meet baby Isabella.  We are also excited to meet baby girl Gilchrist whenever she arrives as well - due date is February 3rd.  So many things to be thankful for!

Christmas songs

Bethany had a great time singing in the Christmas program at church and at Koala Bear Childcare.  I'm having some trouble uploading the actual videos from the events but we'll see if it works to post this video of her singing them during breakfast one morning.
