rice cereal

We started giving Bethany a little rice cereal a few weeks ago and she really seems to like it. Its at dinner so that she can see us eating too and learn that is what we do at the table. We give her a spoon so she gets used to it and its funny to see her expressions when the new texture hits her tongue. We'll probably hold off on introducing other solids for a little bit, but its fun experimenting with something new!

Bethany is almost 5 months old! We are working on figuring out the best bedtime for her, and so far it seems somewhere around 7:30 or 8 p.m. She wakes up around 2 or 3 a.m. for a little bit, but on the monitor we can see her eyes are closed and she eventually drifts back to sleep. She's doing pretty well so far so we'll keep working on sleeping well at night!

Here are a few pictures from the last couple of weeks:

Another new pass time is playing in my exersaucer from the Espensons. Bethany has also found her tongue and spends a lot of time sticking it way out, or blowing bubbles with her tongue out spraying everywhere!

Drooling, chubby legs baby

I can even get rice cereal on my eye lashes!

I like being messy!

Some people have bald spots on top of their heads, but Bethany likes hers right in the back.. so she can still have her little mullet :)

We celebrated Dan's great-grandma's 95th birthday a few weekends ago. Edna is an amazing lady - outliving three husbands and still going strong! It was fun to see Dan's extended family and for Bethany to meet her great-grandma for the first time. Here Edna is telling stories to her great-grandchildren.
